Are you passionate about faith formation and community engagement? St Agnes Catholic Church in Cricklewood is seeking a dedicated Catechetical Coordinator to lead and develop our parish’s catechetical and sacramental programmes. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the spiritual life of our parish community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and develop catechetical programmes including Confirmation, First Holy Communion, RCIA, Baptism preparation, and Children’s Liturgy.
  • Prepare materials for sessions and liturgies, and collaborate with St Agnes Catholic Primary School on liturgical planning.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer catechists.
  • Promote evangelisation and the mission of the Church.
  • Liaise with diocesan agencies and ensure safeguarding compliance.
  • Maintain records and manage administrative tasks related to catechetical programmes.
  • Support parents and families involved in sacramental preparation.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is not only competent in Catechism but who also embodies our diocesan values of Competence, Reliability, Honesty, Perseverance, and Love.

Essential

  • Practicing Roman Catholic with strong understanding of Church teachings.
  • Experience in teaching or catechesis.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of theology, catechesis, and catechist formation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.

Desirable:

  • BA in Catholic Theology/Religious Education or equivalent (e.g., Archbishop’s Certificate, CCRS, MCC).
  • Experience in pastoral ministry and contemporary approaches to mission and discipleship.

Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
