About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and conscientious Parish Cleaner to help maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the parish presbytery and associated parish buildings. This is an important role supporting the day-to-day life of the parish by ensuring a welcoming, clean, and well-maintained environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • General cleaning of the presbytery, including hoovering and dusting all rooms
  • Cleaning ground-floor offices, hall, Newman room, and toilets
  • Cleaning the kitchen and kitchen equipment (e.g. cooker, microwave)
  • Cleaning and mopping bathrooms and toilets
  • Cleaning and polishing floors and surfaces throughout the building
  • Cleaning doors and interior windows as required
  • Cleaning the toilets and kitchen in the church hall
  • Undertaking laundry duties as required
  • Carrying out ad hoc cleaning tasks as needed

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Friendly, welcoming manner
  • Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to working in line with our values

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar cleaning role
  • An interest in working for the Catholic Church

Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
