Bayswater Parish is seeking a reliable, diligent, and friendly Parish Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all who visit, worship, and work within the parish. Your contribution will directly support the parish mission and ensure the church and its facilities remain a place of warmth and hospitality.
About the Role
As Parish Cleaner, you will take responsibility for maintaining high cleaning standards across all parish spaces. Your duties will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning communal areas, including stairs, sacristy, church porch, parish office, presbytery, parish halls, and the church courtyard.
- Cleaning kitchens and kitchen equipment (e.g. cooker, microwave).
- Cleaning all bathrooms and toilets.
- Polishing floors and surfaces; cleaning doors and interior windows.
- Dusting, vacuuming, emptying bins, and ensuring general tidiness across the site.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or building defects to the parish priest.
- Carrying out any additional ad‑hoc cleaning duties as required.

- Adaptability, flexibility, and a proactive attitude toward new tasks or challenges.
- Relevant cleaning experience.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Diocese and sensitivity towards diverse groups.
Desirable
- Experience working in a faith‑based or charitable organisation.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn about the Catholic Church and its structure.
Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
