About the Role
We are looking for a practical and committed individual to join the Parish of Botwell, Hayes, as a Venues Caretaker. This vital role supports the parish by ensuring our venues are clean, safe, and ready to welcome all who use them. Whether it is for parish groups, community events, or sacramental celebrations, your work will help create a hospitable and respectful environment in line with the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Venues Caretaker, your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that the parish halls are kept clean, tidy, and well maintained.
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repair tasks.
- Cleaning communal areas, kitchen equipment, and internal surfaces.
- Maintaining safety equipment such as fire alarms and extinguishers.
- Moving rubbish bins to and from collection points.
- Assisting with the opening and closing of venues as required.
- Reporting any building or equipment faults to the Parish Priest.
- Occasionally supporting with maintenance across other parish areas.

- Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Is proactive in identifying issues and resolving problems.
- Is comfortable working under the guidance of the Parish Priest and alongside volunteers.
- Demonstrates an understanding of, and commitment to, the mission of the Catholic Church.
- Has experience in a similar caretaking or maintenance role (desirable but not essential).
- Shows respect and sensitivity to the diverse communities we serve.
