Relief Support Worker

Every year, thousands of men, women and children are trafficked to the United Kingdom.

Caritas Bakhita House, opened in response to the Catholic Church’s response to this global issue, provides women escaping human trafficking with the safety and support to allow them to begin the recovery process.

We are currently recruiting Relief Support Workers to provide cover for annual and sick leave.

Working jointly with colleagues, the postholders will support guests with health, housing, immigration, educational and other needs.

All applicants should have experience working with victims of human trafficking/modern slavery or individuals with high support needs. They should be able to sensitively support all guests displaying challenging behaviour, as a result of experiencing trauma.

Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills, together with an understanding of the values and principles in action that Caritas demonstrates in all its work would also be essential.

Due to the nature of this work, applicants are required to have a flexible approach in terms of working hours and may need to work additional hours as required.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
