Are you a friendly, organised individual looking for flexible work in a welcoming and values-driven environment? We are seeking a Relief Receptionist to provide essential front-of-house support at Vaughan House and occasionally at Archbishop’s House.
This casual role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in creating a professional and hospitable atmosphere, and is committed to supporting the mission of the Diocese.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and staff with warmth and professionalism
- Manage the reception area and main switchboard
- Oversee bookings and preparation of meeting/conference rooms
- Handle incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries
- Maintain supplies and equipment across departments
- Coordinate parking and access to facilities
- Ensure safety procedures and building maintenance issues are addressed
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is not only competent in manning a reception but who also embodies our diocesan values of Competence, Reliability, Honesty, Perseverance, and Love.
- Previous experience as a receptionist
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Calm and compassionate approach to challenging situations
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Publisher)
- Understanding of the Catholic Church and its structure
- Discretion, empathy, and sound judgement
Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
