About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Parish Bookkeeper to help manage the finances of our thriving parish community. Working closely with the Parish Priest, you will play a vital role in keeping our financial records accurate and ensuring the smooth financial administration of the parish.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Maintain and update parish financial records using the diocesan system (OPAS).
🔹 Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations.
🔹 Administer the Gift Aid scheme and planned giving records.
🔹 Prepare financial reports for the Parish Finance Committee.
🔹 Manage petty cash and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
🔹 Ensure financial transactions comply with diocesan policies.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
✔ Has experience in bookkeeping or financial administration.
✔ Holds an AAT qualification (or equivalent).
✔ Is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
✔ Works well independently, with excellent attention to detail.
✔ Understands and respects the social and moral teaching of the Catholic Church.
✔ Is professional, discreet, and well-organised.
