Watford Parish Administrator Job Description

 

We are looking for a Parish Administrator to join us at St Helen’s, Watford North.

This is a key role, providing administrative and office management support to the Parish Priest and parish team, helping ensure the smooth running of the parish.

 

What you’ll be doing

You will be the first point of contact in the parish office, welcoming all visitors and enquiries with compassion and professionalism.

Your responsibilities will include preparing the weekly parish newsletter, updating noticeboards and the website, maintaining parish databases, managing diaries, ordering supplies, and keeping accurate records in line with diocesan procedures. You will also support with safeguarding administration, organise liturgical and parish events, manage room bookings, prepare registers and certificates for baptisms, weddings and funerals, and liaise with contractors and property agents when needed.

 

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently, and be adaptable and able to prioritise a varied workload. You will handle sensitive matters with discretion, empathy and good judgement.

Experience in a similar administrative role is essential, and experience in a faith-based or charitable organisation would be an advantage.
