St Edmund’s, Millwall, is seeking a dedicated and organised Parish Administrator to support the everyday running of our vibrant parish community. This is a rewarding, varied role at the heart of parish life, working closely with the Parish Priest, staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the parish office.

Key Responsibilities
Parish Communications
- Act as the first point of contact for the parish office, warmly welcoming visitors, clergy and volunteers.
- Provide 1:1 support to parish employees using HR self‑service tools.
- Produce and publish weekly newsletters, Mass sheets, liturgy books and parish notices.
- Maintain parish databases, update website and noticeboards.
General Administration
- Manage correspondence, certificates, filing systems and diary scheduling.
- Order office and church supplies and maintain office equipment.
- Support the preparation of rotas for readers, counters, stewards and cleaners.
- Assist with GDPR compliance and safeguarding administration, including DBS processing.
- Provide flexible ad‑hoc administrative support as needed.
Finance & Bookkeeping
- Oversee all parish bookkeeping tasks including managing transactions, preparing budgets, handling monthly/annual closings and generating financial statements.
- Reconcile Gift Aid, Dona and Stripe systems and manage financial records in line with diocesan requirements.
Events, Liturgy & Facilities
- Organise and oversee parish meeting room bookings.
- Maintain registers and paperwork for baptisms, weddings and funerals.
- Support parish events, fundraising activities and pastoral functions.
- Liaise with diocesan surveyors, contractors, tradespeople and property agents.
- Assist the parish priest with Health & Safety obligations.

- Compassion, empathy and good judgement.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Administrator or Secretary (executive level or above).
- Understanding of the Catholic Church’s structure and a commitment to its mission.
- Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher)
Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
