Parish Administrator – Acton East Job Description

 

The Parish of Acton East is looking for a committed and proactive individual to join our team as a Parish Administrator. This is a vital role providing administrative and office support to the Parish Priest and parish team in the day-to-day running of the parish.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the first point of contact in the parish office, offering a warm and professional welcome to clergy, volunteers, and visitors
  • Preparing the weekly newsletter and liturgical materials, including Mass intention sheets and notices
  • Maintaining parish databases and updating noticeboards and the parish website
  • Supporting the organisation of baptisms, weddings, funerals, and parish events
  • Overseeing room bookings and liaising with contractors and suppliers
  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and assisting with rota management
  • Ensuring Health & Safety protocols and property matters are addressed with relevant contacts and agents

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Be adaptable and discreet, with the capacity to handle sensitive information
  • Show a commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church
