WYM Outreach Worker Job Description
The Diocese of Westminster is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Outreach Worker to join our vibrant Westminster Youth Ministry (WYM) team.
This exciting role is ideal for someone deeply committed to the faith formation of young people, who will work to strengthen youth ministry across the Diocese by supporting parishes, training leaders, and nurturing networks of young adults.
About the Role
Reporting to the Youth Ministry Outreach Manager, you will:
- Support and enable parishes to build sustainable youth ministry
- Mentor and inspire youth leaders and young adults in ministry
- Contribute to the design and delivery of training for volunteers and young leaders
- Lead and coordinate day retreats, catechesis programmes, and diocesan events
- Develop and promote young adult networks throughout the Diocese
- Work collaboratively with diocesan departments and national youth ministry organisations
- Travel regularly to parishes across the Diocese to facilitate youth engagement and support
About You
You will be a committed and faithful Catholic with:
- A passion for youth ministry and evangelisation
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage young people and adults alike
- Proven experience in developing and delivering youth ministry programmes and events
- The ability to inspire, train and work alongside volunteers and parish leaders
- Excellent organisation and communication skills, with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- A solid understanding of safeguarding, Catholic teaching, and youth ministry networks
- Experience in leading retreats, catechesis, and parish-based youth work
