Are you an accomplished Organist keen to make a difference by working closely with the Parish Priest to lead the musical direction of the parish at Masses and special services whilst accompanying cantors? Then you could be the next Music Director and Organist at Ogle Street Parish.

 

What you’ll be doing

Located just off New Cavendish Street, near BT Tower, is St Charles Borromeo RC Church on Ogle Street. Ogle Street Parish are looking for a Parish Organist/Music Director confident in playing alongside, and leading a choir during Mass and other liturgies, to enhance worship through high-quality music.

At the Mass, you will lead the congregation in traditional hymns at the Solemn Mass and more modern hymns at the Family Mass. There will be other services throughout the year, e.g. at Christmas and Easter, where music will play an important role in the liturgies. The successful candidate will work closely alongside the parish priest.

What we’re looking for

Ideally, you will have a music degree (or similar qualification) to enable you to work with professional musicians, and have experience of doing so.  You will be well organized and a great communicator who will thrive on juggling the various competing demands of this varied and interesting role. It is therefore important that you are self-motivated and that you can multitask effectively to meet deadlines.
