Head of Security Westminster Cathedral Complex

Westminster Cathedral is the seat of the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster and the Mother Church for Roman Catholics in England and Wales.  For over a hundred years, countless Christians and visitors of every faith and none have crossed the threshold of this holy place.  The cathedral is also a vibrant parish church where the community is always being built and extended; a living house of prayer where Holy Mass is offered over forty times every week and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available for six hours each day.

A unique and exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Head of Security to join the team at the Westminster Cathedral complex

S/he will be primarily responsible for 3 key areas:

  1. Management and oversight of security provision for the entire Westminster Cathedral estate
  2. Management of the Cathedral’s security department to ensure the security of all staff residents and visitors as well as the Cathedral estate is safeguarded at all times
  3. Providing expert advice to the Cathedral Estate Management on all matters relating to security

The post-holder will possess significant experience of security management. S/he will be a calm, confident communicator with strong leadership and organisational skills, and possess significant experience of security management, particularly in relation to the management of large scale events. A good working knowledge of relevant Data Protection legislation would also be essential.

Salary: £35k per annum

Hours of work: 35 hours per week (usually 5 days per week on a rota basis to include evenings

weekends and bank holidays).  A part time role would be considered.
