Parish Music Director and Organist- Sunbury on Thames, St Ignatius of Loyola Parish 

We are seeking a Music Director that knows how to play the organ and the required music for our Sunday masses with direction of the choir.

The music at the mass will consist of choral as well as congregational music and occasional motets.  Attendance at choir practice is desirable as would be a willingness to work with the Choir Director to develop the skills and repertoire of the amateur choir.  The organ is a mid-19th century organ.

Applicant should have knowledge of or appreciation for Catholic liturgy and liturgical music.

The Organist’s duties include performing at every Sunday Mass (excluding the first Sunday after Christmas and the Sunday after Easter).  As well as hymns, except on the Sundays of Lent, a voluntary before and after Mass.

Hours:                         4 per week (Sunday from 8:45 to 12:45pm. Hours for other occasional services to be                                                               agreed with the parish priest.)

Salary:                         £6000 per annum
