About the role
The Diocese of Westminster is a national leader in Digital Giving within the Catholic Church in England and Wales, experiencing strong growth driven by the successful rollout of contactless giving across parishes.
We are now seeking a Digital Giving Officer to play a key role in supporting parishes to maximise the potential of digital and contactless giving. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of church fundraising, combining technology, training, parish support and stakeholder engagement.
Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will be the subject‑matter expert for digital giving, leading on the administration, support and development of contactless giving systems across the Diocese.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Parish & Digital Fundraising Manager, you will:
- Act as the main point of contact for parishes using contactless giving devices
- Support the rollout and ongoing management of contactless giving following the national tender process
- Coordinate the purchasing, delivery, installation and training of contactless machines
- Lead parish onboarding, including account creation and setup
- Manage the digital giving support desk and respond to parish enquiries
- Deliver training and guidance to parishes on best practice, new trends and technology
- Maintain and improve digital giving pages, guidance, templates and user resources
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, negotiating rates and service levels
- Create written, digital and video support materials for parishes
- Support wider fundraising activity, including regular giving initiatives, Planned Giving Drives and grant applications (with training provided)
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is not only competent in fundraising but who also embodies our diocesan values of Competence, Reliability, Honesty, Perseverance, and Love.
Essential skills and experience include:
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a team
- Good understanding of digital technology (websites, devices, apps) and the ability to explain this to others
- Ability to work with financial information and handle confidential data appropriately
- Awareness of GDPR and data protection in a fundraising context
- Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends (TOIL provided)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud‑based applications
Desirable experience includes:
- Fundraising experience or strong transferable skills
- Delivering training and producing training materials
- Knowledge of Gift Aid and charity fundraising regulations
- Project or event management experience
- Familiarity with parish life and working with clergy and volunteers
Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
