Project Manager Property Services Job Description (Education)
Are you a proactive and skilled project manager with a passion for improving educational spaces? Do you have experience overseeing construction or refurbishment projects and working with a variety of stakeholders? If so, the Diocese of Westminster invites you to apply for the role of Project Manager – Property Services (Education).
About the Role
As part of our dynamic Property team, you will lead and monitor the delivery of capital works across our educational estate, including voluntary aided schools and Academy Trusts. Working in a collaborative environment, you will guide projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
This is an exciting opportunity to support meaningful transformation across our school sites, contributing to the ongoing improvement and stewardship of Catholic education facilities throughout the Diocese.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end project management across the education estate
- Collaborate with consultants, school governors, trustees, and academy leaders
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide strategic updates to committees
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, Building Regulations, and DfE Output Specifications
- Review and advise on property legalities such as licenses, leases, and title deeds
- Oversee site works, prepare tenders/specifications, and manage contracts
- Liaise with loss adjusters on insurance matters
- Support condition surveys and the development of future capital programmes
What We’re Looking For
- Chartered professional (MRICS, MCIOB, CABE) or significant equivalent experience
- Strong project and building surveying background (minimum 5 years post-qualification)
- Proven experience with capital projects ranging from small works to £5m+
- Skilled communicator with stakeholders at all levels
- Working knowledge of statutory regulations, CDM 2015, and Listed Buildings
- Confident in Microsoft Office and ideally Microsoft Project
- Full driving license and access to a car is essential
