ICT Support Technician Job Description
The Diocese of Westminster is seeking an experienced and dedicated ICT Support Technician to join our central ICT team.
This key role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of the Church’s mission, providing vital ICT support to the diocesan offices in Westminster and Southwark, and occasionally to our parishes and remote sites.
About the Role
Under the guidance of the Junior Systems Administrator, you will:
- Deliver first-line ICT support and resolve hardware/software issues via phone, email, and desk-side support
- Install, maintain, and relocate ICT equipment
- Manage user accounts and access controls in line with security protocols
- Maintain and support network infrastructure including servers, switches, and printers
- Provide support for Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server environments, and Active Directory
- Assist in database administration (SQL-based) and general systems upkeep
- Log and manage service desk tickets and contribute to monthly service analysis
- Travel regularly to diocesan parishes and sites to provide on-site technical support
About You
You will be a committed and reliable professional with:
- A strong background in ICT support within a professional or charitable setting
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft technologies and networking protocols
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to staff at all levels
- A proactive, problem-solving approach and willingness to travel to parishes occasionally
- A commitment to the values and mission of the Catholic Church
Relevant qualifications such as MCP or MCSE are expected; a degree in Computer Science is desirable but not essential.
