Cleaner Job Description at Sunbury
St Ignatius’ Parish in Sunbury-on-Thames is seeking to appoint a reliable and thorough Parish Cleaner to ensure the Parish Hall and Presbytery are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. The role is central to the upkeep and welcoming environment of our parish facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for weekly cleaning of the Parish Centre—including the main hall, flower room, kitchen, and toilets—as well as the Presbytery (“The Rectory”), including domestic laundry tasks. This is a trusted role, requiring attention to detail and a proactive attitude to maintaining stock levels and cleanliness throughout the complex.
Key Responsibilities
- Weekly cleaning of the Parish Centre, including floors, toilets, kitchen, and high surfaces on rotation.
- Deep cleaning of kitchen appliances and cupboards on a six-week rotation.

- Monitoring and requesting replenishment of cleaning materials.
- Occasional deeper cleans as arranged in advance.
This means there’s lots to get involved in – and to be excited about.
