What you’ll be doing
Our Maintenance team directly impact how we can deliver our mission across our Cathedral Complex at the Diocese of Westminster. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will work as part of the site-based Maintenance Team to help deliver a programme of planned preventative maintenance and a high-quality reactive repairs service across the Westminster Cathedral Estate.
Whilst working for the Diocese, you will study for a nationally recognised qualification through our apprenticeship levy scheme. During the apprenticeship you’ll enjoy plenty of on-the-job experience, with 20% of your time dedicated to formal learning. In the role itself, you will work as part of a small and friendly Maintenance team, as well as directly with our Cathedral Estate Works Manager.
The Maintenance team will support you at every stage of your apprenticeship, and provide you with the opportunity to learn new skills in your role.

What we’re looking for
To be successful, you must be as comfortable working independently as within the team, with a flexible, pragmatic and collaborative approach. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, great organisation skills, and take pride in your attention to detail. Our successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with colleagues in the Maintenance team, as well as other members of staff across the Diocese.
It is imperative that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have attained, or are predicted to achieve GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade grades 9 to 4 (A* to C). Additionally, a basic knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Software packages is central to success within this role.
