Every year, thousands of men, women and children are trafficked to the United Kingdom.
Caritas Bakhita House, opened by the Catholic Church as a response to this global issue, provides women escaping human trafficking/slavery with accommodation and support to allow them to begin the recovery process.
We are currently recruiting Night Relief Contact Workers to provide cover for annual and sick leave.
Working throughout the night to maintain safety of the house and assist in any matters which a guest may require assistance with. This is a lone working role although there will be other staff on call to assist should this be required.
All applicants should have experience working with victims of human trafficking/modern slavery or individuals with high support needs. There may also be pregnant women and women with new born babies. They should be able to sensitively support all guests displaying challenging behaviour, as a result of experiencing trauma.
Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills, together with an understanding of the values and principles in action that Caritas demonstrates in all its work would also be essential.
Due to the nature of this work, applicants are required to have a flexible approach in terms of working hours and may need to work additional hours as required.
