The Diocese of Westminster is seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Engineer to join our dedicated Property Services Office team. This mobile role is vital in ensuring our parishes and properties are safe, compliant, and well maintained through proactive electrical support and responsive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections, testing, and remedial works across the Diocese
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, including power failure, 3-phase, lighting, alarms, and emergency systems
  • Supporting statutory compliance including EICRs, PAT testing, and emergency lighting inspections
  • Undertaking minor installations and upgrades, and assisting with project work as required
  • Keeping detailed maintenance records and reports using computer-based systems
  • Ensuring safe working practices and adherence to health & safety standards
  • Liaising with contractors and stakeholders, and supporting the Head of Health & Safety.

About You

We are looking for someone with a positive, proactive approach and the technical know-how to support a wide range of sites. You’ll have:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • Experience in commercial electrical maintenance and installations
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Diocese
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), UPS, generators, and LV systems
  • A commitment to excellent customer service and clear communication

Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
