About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is a pivotal role supporting financial business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting across the charity. You’ll work closely with departmental leads and the wider finance team to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis that drives strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, journals, and reconciliations
  • Deliver variance analysis and commentary to support performance reviews
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit processes
  • Collaborate with business partners to strengthen financial accountability
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance systems and processes
  • Provide training to build financial awareness and understanding of key trends and projections across the organisation
  • Offer ad hoc support to finance colleagues as needed

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Assistant Management Accounting or similar
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office
  • Currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding and sympathy with the social and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

Desirable:

  • Experience with MS Dynamics GP and Power BI
  • Degree in finance, accounting, or economics

Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
